Star was six when she saw her parents killed by machines and became the youngest member of the LA branch of the Resistance all in one swoop. The day her parents were buried was the day she stopped talking.

Star developed something of a sixth sense for when the machines were coming, very much like a cat knowing when an earthquake is on the horizon. This extended a few lives, but never saved them, one by one the rest of the group was picked off until there were only two, herself and Kyle Reese.

It was just the two of them for quite some time, until one fateful day a stranger arrived that changed everything.

After the day that became known as The Second Judgment, Star continued to learn everything she could from anyone who had the patience to teach her, which turned out to be most everyone.

In the ten years since The Second Judgment, Star has become an excellent markswoman, a fair medic, and a passing chef. She still doesn’t talk, not that anyone’s heard, so far she hasn’t needed to, most people picked up on the sign language that she and Kyle developed, some part ASL, some part US Army signals and some things that were distinctly Resistance, and whenever she’s needed to say something specific, text has worked just fine.
